Intel Generative AI at the Credicitrus 40th Anniversary Event:

Intel Generative AI at the Credicitrus 40th Anniversary Event:

Founded on September 14, 1983, by a group of 24 members of Coopercitrus, Credicitrus has grown consistently over four decades, becoming the largest credit cooperative in Brazil. Current data illustrates its magnitude: assets exceeding R$ 13 billion, a base of more than 167,000 members, investments in loans to cooperatives exceeding R$ 9 billion, and a network of 120 service locations spread across São Paulo, Minas Gerais, and Mato Grosso do Sul.

To celebrate its four successful decades, Credicitrus organized a grand event between September 14 and 16, at Feccib Nova in Bebedouro. Focused on business, leisure, education, and culture, the event gathered more than 60 cooperative companies from the region to showcase their products and conduct commercial transactions. Children were also catered to, with various entertainment options such as games, an amusement park, educational activities, and children's theater, Metaverse, among other attractions. A new concert arena was specially erected at the location to host renowned artists during the event's celebration days.

In the 40th anniversary event of Credicitrus, one of the highlighted activities was lecture sessions conducted throughout the days of the event in both the morning and afternoon by Alessandro de Oliveira Faria (Intel Innovator). He discussed one of the most exciting emerging technologies: Generative Artificial Intelligence (Generative AI). Moreover, the speaker provided an overview of Intel oneAPI technologies, openVINO, and Edge AI, and illustrated practical applications of Generative AI through Intel IPEX.

  • Intel oneAPI: This is a unified development platform aimed at simplifying programming for distributed workloads, both on CPUs and accelerators like GPUs and FPGAs. It is a unique tool that can be used across a variety of applications and sectors.
  • Intel openVINO: The acronym "openVINO" stands for Open Visual Inference & Neural Network Optimization. This software development kit is designed to accelerate the development of computer vision applications and neural network inference.
  • Edge AI: Edge AI is a concept that involves processing AI data closer to the source of data generation, such as IoT devices, rather than sending the data to a data center. This results in lower latency and faster decisions.
  • Intel IPEX: This is an environment that facilitates the practical application of Generative AI, allowing developers to optimize AI models more efficiently.

Alessandro de Oliveira Faria was able to demonstrate how these technologies can be practically applied, especially illustrating the capabilities of Generative AI through the use of Intel IPEX. The event served as an excellent platform for disseminating knowledge about these emerging technologies and their potential impact across various sectors.
