Overview / Usage

The spread of misinformation about Covid-19 has been investigated. The word embedding generation model JoSE (Joint Spherical Embeddings) was used to turn the tweets into word vectors. Furthermore, the retweets and user-base information were used to identify user-groups that are prone to believing such falsehoods. This research contributes to a better understanding of how misinformation spreads and which user groups are affected by it. Later, the geographical distribution of such tweets was found. This made it easier to link the transmission of the coronavirus to the propagation of misinformation.
