Overview / Usage

The growing use of mobile and wearables devices has opened a broad range of possibilities for building robust Intelligent Personal Assistants (IPA's). Most known IPA's implementations have predominantly focused on understanding what the user's immediate intention is, however, there is no evidence of trying to understand the user's context and intentions in the long term in order to provide a real personalization to the user needs. This paper considers the use of a Never-Ending Language Learner (NELL) as an underlying mechanism for IPA's to make decisions and sophisticate rules previously created by the user. We propose an approach to combine NELL’s knowledge base to an IPA, handling the knowledge about the world, the user preferences and the device itself.
