Overview / Usage

A pet project with a goal to ensure women safety by making use of a location based danger indicator, alerting the user of level
of danger in their current area. It was done using Google Maps and Javascript. Won the online round of the Code.Fun.Do
hackathon organized by Microsoft India in Hyderabad in 2016.

Methodology / Approach

The main idea behind this was to use data sourced from the users themselves about locations that are not safe. This data would then be used to create heatmaps accessible by users on a website and possibly as Android and iOS apps. The novelty here is the idea of Angels, volunteers who would be ready to help women who feel unsafe in a particular area. The Angels would themselves be women and would go through a stringent selection process and upon passing a certain time limit, be allowed to nominate other Angels.
