Overview / Usage
A mystical oath pledged in a dim underground chamber. Wreckage of an unidentifiable aircraft cleared away before dawn. The makeshift tomb of a fallen figurehead. These and countless other artifacts are hidden away in secret spaces around the world. Welcome to the Black Fox Society: Vault. Now that you're here, the world of spatial audio will never be the same.
Black Fox Society: Vault is a landmark spatial ambient resource that gives you full access to expertly forge otherworldly soundscapes for psychological and emotional impact. Ideal for experiential horror, sci-fi, paranormal, fantasy and supernatural genres. Perfect for applications ranging from first-person VR environments and cinematic trailers to industrial composition. This comprehensive collection was professionally designed specifically for sound designers, film editors, virtual reality producers, composers, video game developers, writers, world creators, etc.
Building on the success of his dark cinematic construction kit, White Rabbit Asylum, critically acclaimed sound designer Justin Lassen spent over a decade traversing the globe, venturing into the shadows to collect thousands of new field recordings of the unseen. From occult mountain shrines in Asia to grottos littered with thousands of human bones in Europe, he procured samples of mysterious and hidden spaces where secret societies have operated in ancient and modern times. From obscure passageways under cathedrals to symbolic monuments hidden in plain sight, Justin has extracted some of the secret stories these places tell.
Justin gathered countless hours of ambisonic and binaural audio and impulse responses, then masterfully crafted them into a massive collection of 465 unique 1-minute ambient loops comprising well over 7 hours of total audio. Each loop was painstakingly constructed with up to two dozen layers before rendering specifically for this library, creating complex and visceral soundscapes that are truly moving. This enormous repository is completely rendered in high-resolution 24-bit/96 kHz sound, totaling 14.9GB of uncompressed data (6.5GB compressed).
This is NOT a sample library. Each individual ambient loop is a unique piece of art, skillfully designed by Justin to evoke the very emotions you would experience in the strange and obscure locations he visited. Justin begins with the raw audio samples and then through his signature processes, literally renders an artistic creation from multiple different audio colors, textures, movements, and dynamics. As the loop is constructed, Justin meticulously reviews each nuance so you can rest assured that every loop not only delivers exactly what you need but does it seamlessly without limits. You are in total control of top-tier professional audio design already being used by the biggest and best production houses around the world.

Methodology / Approach
I traveled to 22 countries and did a lot of field recording. I collected IR (impulse responses) of rooms and places, to create custom reverb scenarios. I also collected lots of foley work and design. I had over 5TB's of audio and video to sort and organize, edit, morph, and finalize for this release. It was a year long process, but is a first of its kind for VR immersive audio libraries.
Technologies Used
Recorders, software and hardware from: Zoom, PreSonus, Intel, Sennheiser, Roland, Behringer, Sony Studio One, Acid Pro, Sound Forge, etc.
