Overview / Usage

With the Intel Arc being a new technology, and 3d printers (relatively) being a new thing, I thought it would be cool to try to combine the two ideas and technologies to make it seem like one day you could 3d print full pc components.

Methodology / Approach

The plan would be to obtain a 3d printer with a semi-open frame, remove the core components from the base and use that as a power supply shroud along with anything else that might need to be contained below (possibly radiator/pump/res if I watercool the build). Some 3d printers come with a screen, and I'd love to actually modify that and turn it into a monitor connected to the GPU or iGPU at least.

The motherboard I'd like to mount under the 3d print bed, and then cut a slot for a riser to come up into the card, and have it powered up on top of the print bed. Then print a shroud for the GPU, and stop the print 95% done, so it still has the internal structures on display, and then lower the arm for the 3d printer, and align the nozzle head to make it appear like it would still be 3d printing the card. I feel like this would tie together the two kinds of technologies well.

The plan would be to integrate as much of the pc's wiring and connectors into the aesthetic of the printer itself, to make it look as though it belonged in the first place.
