Overview / Usage

Unique. Simple. Powerful. Three words that DDCM’s modder James Whorley

has pursued to base his life on. The concept of “DDCM Desk” was inspired after he

observed several majestic works of PC art and the need to replace his old desk. His old

desk was clunky, super heavy, and only provided a cabinet with limited airflow for the

storage of his modded PC, Night Shark. Removing the desk wasn’t enough, but he

enjoyed the standing concept of the DIY desk he created for his wife’s work.

After great PC desks like L3p D3sk by Peter Brands and Project Alternate by

DeBlow came into the spotlight, James began to contemplate ways to own such a

unique piece of modding mastery. As he had always been a fan of non conventional

builds, it called him to the challenge of making one his own. Now that his workshop

can handle this sized project and he gave away his old desk to a local gamer, the stage

is set to begin his own approach to the PC Desk culture. And begin it did...

Methodology / Approach

Utilizing a skilsaw, jigsaw and a drill I crafted the pieces that I had rendered into Google Sketchup. Putting them together with a brad nailer and wood glue. After spilling black paint all over white carpet........ I had a completed desk shell. Then, with painted motherboard and radiators, screwing parts into the wooden shell began.
