Overview / Usage

I feel like innovation stems from our ability to use our imagination through play. I also feel if we can innovate, we create more time for us to enjoy foundational things, such as our family and favorite pastimes. As a child I always wanted a Barbie dream home, but my parents wouldn't purchase any of those products for me. I fell in love with other toys to make buildings like Legos and linking logs. I feel that through the pandemic I have been fortunate in meeting like minded people online and have created a new family. This is where I thought it would be awesome to make a house as my PC case.

My plan is to have the motherboard, GPU, processor, and RAM within the main part of the house. The attached garage will support the power supply and SSD. The roofs of each will be hinged so I can access them and show off the PC parts. Of course the house will be decorated with furniture.

Being that I used to make architectural models and have an understanding of house building with working in construction, elements of normal house airflow will be my inspiration for cooling. The home will be built up and have an intake on the bottom and the roof will have exhaust details. Wires will be neatly secured underneath the home as well.

I have attached images of homes that I am using for my inspiration. I have also attached some rough sketches of the idea.

Methodology / Approach

I am very excited to enter my idea for a future MOD. I have built my fare share of PCs for myself, family, and friends, but I have not dabbled into the art of PC modding. I enjoy making things and crafting so this is right up my alley. I was informed about this challenge at a LAN party and I have been inspired by many other PC fanatics who attend that event.

I plan on deconstructing the provided case and using the bones to make a new case. I will be adding wooden and acrylic elements to create a Model Home. I will be using Google sketchup and revit to create a home to create a pattern and then build.

I would say the biggest constraint would be potentially getting the commodity materials like the wood and acrylic that I want to use.
