Nowadays, home security system is very important to every house because there are have a lot of robbery cases happen in everywhere. This home security system actually can alert a resident from any intruder. It is important to safeguard the homes on everyday basis, especially when resident travels or away for certain period of time. So, before making any travel, residents must make sure that their homes are save to leave. That why is a security system was created to solve of this problem. Overview / Usage
Internet of Things (IoT) conceptualizes the idea of remotely connecting and monitoring real world objects (things) through the Internet . When it comes to our house, this concept can be aptly incorporated to make it smarter, safer and automated. This IoT project focuses on building a smart wireless home security system which sends alerts to the owner by using Internet in case of any trespass and raises an alarm optionally. Wireless Home security, Home automation and face detection through template matching are the aspects of this project. The currently built prototype of the system sends alerts to the owner over a set of protocols using the Internet if any sort of human movement is sensed near the entrance of his house and raises an alarm optionally upon the user's discretion. The provision for sending alert messages to concerned security personnel in case of critical situation is also built into the system. On the other hand if the owner identifies that the person entering his house is not an intruder but an unexpected guest of his then instead of triggering the security alarm, the user/owner can make arrangements such as opening the door.
Methodology / Approach
Ultrasonic sensor based visitor detection :
An ultrasonic sensor is used to detect movement in front of the door and an alert is sent via sms/message. This also triggers a mini-cam which captures the guest’s face.
Template recognition based intruder detection :
Attached mini-camera can takes the picture and motion of object and will saved and to verify user, the system will trigger every time a user wishes to perform database backup. Image of user’s current position will be captured. The image captured (test image) must be in the same format and size as the reference image. This approach is an exhaustive matching process, which performs complete scan of source image and comparing each pixel with corresponding pixel of template. Thus by comparing the parameters of the captured image with that of the test image the person can be identified as either a known person or a unknown person.
User defined entry access :
Based on the data an alert is sent to the owner/user via message indicating if the guest is known or unknown based on which the user/owner can decide or make arrangements on opening the door.
