Hanging a picture straight when you are alone is a time consuming task, you have to go back and forward to check if the picture is straight and come back to fix it... too many times.

So I'm developing an Alexa skill that will help on the task, just ask:

Alexa is the picture straight?

And let Alexa give you guidance to do the job, you just need to turn your pc in front of the wall.

Methodology / Approach

After receiving the question the Alexa skill will fire up the laptop camera, using OpenVINO and if present a RealSense camera it will find the picture and use the wall as a reference for check if the picture is straight.
After this it will check periodically the alignment and tell back the user guidance on how to fix it if it's already not straight.

I'll try to implement it using simple visual recognition algorithm, but in case it will be needed I'll train a tensorflow model for the task.

Maybe it will be useful to also add visual aids on top of the video stream.
