Overview / Usage
Intro: Reaching the planet Mars has been the next major milestone for mankind, and it demands cutting-edge technology of the future. Intel just released 12th generation Alder Lake Desktop Processors with industry leading performance and features to be the centerpiece of this PC mod of a conceptual Mars habitation. Together, we will be the first ever gaming PC on Mars.
Scope: Inspired by conceptual Mars habitation, this model will also host a functional high-performance gaming PC with modularity and expandability in mind.
Methodology / Approach
Method: Similar to its architectural design, each transparent dome will hold a key component of the PC, while the most important piece of processor, RAM, and motherboard will be in the center; inter-connecting each of the other components in each of their respective domes.
Each dome will be connected to the main center dome via cable channels, starting off with 5, and our design focuses on flexibility, ease of maintenance with unlimited potential of adding more domes for housing more PC hardware upgrades such as more GPUs and Storage devices.
Should new technology be made available to us: a new Intel processor, Intel Arc GPU, more DDR5 memory, SSD could be changed or made addition to the ecosystem with ease. All could be done by adding and attaching more domes. The future of Innovation never stops.
Similarly to its architecture concept, we also consider powering this PC model with renewable energy such as solar, wind, or geothermal. One of the domes is home to small plants and vegetables, simulating agriculture activity. We hope to inspire what could be possible on the red planet.
Technologies Used
Building: Other than common power tools such as power drill, Dremel, and PC building tools, we would like to reuse and repurpose materials to be sustainable. The base will be wooden board.
Some cables will be tucked, while some will have Individually sleeved cables for clean presentation. Surrounding the domes will have red soil to imitate what is found on Mars. Modeling paint used to add accent colours to the domes and cable channels, creating a realistic worn effect.
Product/Tech:
- Each dome will have a convertible opening for extra cooling and ease of upgrade, RGB fans will provide airflow, while colour will adjust according to system parameters such as CPU temperatures, controlled by MSI Mystic Lights.
- Consider utilizing newly released Be Quiet! Light Wings ARGB fans, offers impressive lighting and silent cooling.
- Intel and partner branding will be made into LED signs and place in front of their associated domes
- Powered by the mighty Intel Core i9-12900K and DDR5 tech, reaching a new frontier of gaming experience and a perfect match in this cyberspace interplanetary concept.
