Overview / Usage
IndustSafe is a safe ,mordern ,power efficient and pollution free industry that is not only safe for workers(Safe from noise ,accidents,dust free,and spillage ,loose electrical cables ,poisonous gasses etc) but also more energy saving , eco friendly and fun to work at
IndustSafe is an Industry 4.0 compliant ,and is a framework , and standards We aim to use to encourage Industries to adopt to make the working conditions of their workers to be more friendly ,free of health hazards ,productive and profitable as well as energy efficient
It contains the following key ideas
Zero or almost no poisonous gas emissions,reduced levels of poisonous gas emissions
Workers Safety
Workers Productivity
Energy Conservation
Intelligent tools and Machines from smart glasses for measurement and fault detection,
IndustSafe is an umbrella project that includes at its core Indutrial IoT ,Machine Learning and Data analytics ,Industrial sensor technologies
The guidelines used here are based of https://software.intel.com/en-us/industrial and a series of webinars from Intel on Industrial IoT ,Intelligent gateways,Industry 4.0 standards ,Sensor nodes and data analytics
Hardware
Currently we use Intel Galileo as an intelligent gateway running a debian linux distribution . It has ethernet ,Wifi( added via the PCIE wifi card slot ) and a usb modem for connection to the internet
We intend to replace it with Up Squared board running Yocto or debian version of linux
The gateway has the following also . NRF modules communicating with various nodes /motes in the Industry collecting sensor data ,images ,streaming videos ,positions of machines, air particle and dust levels , and cameras .
Gateway also has Zigbee( Testing)
The gateway also has an Intel Movidius Stick for doing some computational analysis and Machine learning on the Images sent via the internet
The nodes are Intel Edison and Rapberry Pi with sensors ,Cameras and wireless radios including NRF and Zigbee
Other proposed hardware may include smart glasses ,wrist bands ,helmets with safety critical aspects
Software Stack
Yocto or Debian distro on the nodes and Gateway
A nodejs application sending user data to Windows Azure and AWS with Power BI and analytics
Firmware running on arduino powered sesnsor nodes clooecting data from the Industry
Finally a dashboard build by flask python framework running on a resberry pi hooked to a HDMI display for real time analytics
