Tired of pressing Power-Volume key every time to take a screenshot?! Proximity Screenshot introduces a new way to capture screenshots. This app supports Android 5.0 Lollipop or higher.

[Basic Features]

• Captures high-res screenshots just by tapping the proximity sensor of your phone.
• Clean interface with just one button to switch on or off the service.
• Once started, we can close the app and keep taking screenshots while using other apps.
• A notification is provided while the service is running in background, so that you can easily get back to the app to stop the service.
• All the captured screenshots are stored in ‘ProximityScreenshots’ folder in Internal Storage.
• Works perfectly even on non-root devices.
• Specially optimized to take screenshots in bulk: to capture special moments while gaming or to capture frames from a video.

So why write down everything from a video lecture/tutorial, when you can just capture these screenshots just with a tap! (Yeah that’s what we use this app for! :p)

• Screen capture requires user’s consent. So please select ‘Start Now’ in the confirmation window presented after opening the app.
• This app also requires ‘Write to External Storage’ permission to store the captured screenshots.

Methodology / Approach

We all watch a lot video lectures or online video tutorials. Everytime something important shows up in the video, we have to pause the video first, and then write everything down or manually press the Power and Volume key together to take the screenshot. Its a tedious and time wasting process. So I thought what if there is a button, specially dedicated to capture desired the video frames, without having to pause the video or manually press the hardware buttons. That is where Proximity Sensor comes in handy. You have already paid for every single hardware, present there in your android phone. So why not get the most out of it by putting these sensors to some extra use!
'Proximity Screenshot' app provides a quick and easy way to capture screenshots. Not just videos, you can capture screens from any app or game. This app is built focusing more on the ease of use and quick response. It really comes in handy when you need to take screenshots in bulk, without stopping or pausing the current screen. Once started, we can even close this app and continue taking screenshots. The screenshot service runs in background, so it doesn't disturb the current UI. This gives an advantage over other screenshot apps that rely on overlay buttons on the screen that disturbs the current UI screen.

Technologies Used

This app is designed for Android Lollipop or higher and is built with Java programming language in Android Studio. All the graphics and image assets are created with GIMP.
