Overview / Usage

The original idea with Resolutiion was to build a quick demo game and release it for free. It was our very first development and we had no idea of gamedev in the very beginning. We started using Godot Engine and were able to move a few pixels within a day. And now, five years later, Resolutiion is nearing its completition.

While one of us could already code, we had no experience with videogame development. So we had to learn everything from scratch. Also in terms of art design. It took us some time to find the perfect style and to optimize our workflow.

Resolutiion became a roughly 20 hour long game in the end where we took tons of inspirations from the old Zelda games and Metroid as these are the ones we've grew up with.

Methodology / Approach

We had one idea in the very beginning: Use open source software only for the development. Since the two main developers are brothers, problems were usually solved via direct communication. One was coding, the other one was writing the story and doing the art. Thanks to Godot and Github working together became rather easy.
