Overview / Usage
As a transmedia project, Robot prayers embraces being both research and experimental art/entertainment.
Because Robot prayers is a vehicle for exploring the use of cutting edge immersive, mixed realty technologies as well as writing and surveys, the output of Robot Prayers will take many forms. There have already been several immersive, interactive performances, in full domes as well as initial designs, writings, animations, and VR pieces created. The current development of AI and robotics here on earth will be explored/ researched and the development of the techno conscious sci fi fantasy story world of Robot Prayers will continue. Each will comment metaphorically upon the other. The story world of Robot Prayers is filled with the adventures of ever evolving virtual and real characters seeking the truth of who they are. Robot Prayers will be involved with forwarding the understanding of AI and addressing ethical questions that AI brings up. This project brings together a group of leading artists, animators, writers, composers, costume designers, creative technologists and scientists. Current collaborators are: William Michaelsen, Edward Fury, Maija Beeton, William Lacey, Kate McCallum. Laura Brody, Keram Malicki-Sanchez, Winter Lazerus.
Methodology / Approach
Our methodology is always evolving within the framework of our original creative vision. We are process oriented. I liken this to how a painter might work. A painter starts with a concept or idea that develops as the painting is being created. Because of the open nature of this approach new ideas and solutions are discovered along the way to the final product. There is a direct relationship between what each tool offers and can do and the final product. New technology offers new creative possibilities. The software and hardware are our tools to make the creative visions happen.
