Our app is a step towards a safer world especially for women who travel regularly in cabs or have to car pool. We plan to propose that all transport vehicles have a QR code at a convenient place in the car with the details of the vehicle embedded in it, such as the vehicle number and the details of the owner . In case of an emergency our app finds the nearest police vehicle or police officer and send them an alert along with the location and details of the driver. Also the camera of the phone is switched on and using face detection it automatically sends the frame in which the app detects the face of the driver. This is useful to identify the driver in case the QR code is tampered with or not scanned. Our app is possible solution to make the women safer since calling 100 in such situations not only takes a lot of time and is risky but also is unreliable compared to our app since using our app the nearest police officer is sent the live location of the user along with all the necessary details needed by the police to help the user. ...learn more

Overview / Usage

Our project is based on women security, this projects solves problems of women who travel through cab and auto-rikshaws.

Methodology / Approach

Our app will have two interfaces, one for the user and one for the Police officers.

When a girl opens our app she has the option to either login with her details or sign in anonymously especially in urgent cases. The moment she's logged in an activity with the QR code scanner is automatically opened and she simply has to hold her phone with the back camera away from her casually and the details of the driver will be stored in her phone. Then she will have the option to send an alert to the nearest police vehicle or officer. Since we are planning to give a version of our app to the police, we can use the Google Maps API to find the nearest police officer with our app. Face detection is used so that the police officers who receive the alerts can easily track the driver and the user.
