Overview / Usage

Sclash is a traditional fighting game but in OHKO, aimed primarily for PC and Mac, developed by a team of 3 people from France. With an original stamina mechanic and a gorgeous painting-link art direction with hand-drawn animations.

Methodology / Approach

The main challenges are making the game have this special painting look and good looking hand-drawn painterly animations.
We proceed with a mix of hand-drawn and skeletal 2D animations for the characters to have a faster workflow but still good-looking animations.

For the game's look with make assets with a soft painterly digital art style and add bloom and a vignette selective Kuwahara shader we made making the game look more like a painting the more on the edge of the screen you go, thus keeping the focal point more detailed to appreciate the characters' look.
