Improper disposal of waste throughout the world has been increasing for a decade now, it is a major cause for pollution and global warming. The planet is dying, the rate of recycling and reusing is very less as compared to the amount of waste being generated every day. Its becoming impossible to segregate the waste and the machines used for it are not very efficient. To the rescue comes AI, we use it to write the algorithm that reads the image and separates it as biodegradable and non-biodegradable waste. ...learn more

Overview / Usage

The ever increasing problem of improper disposal is solved. A camera will be used (camera 360 preferred), that will capture the image of the waste and the processed image will help in sorting the waste as biodegradable and non-biodegradable.

Methodology / Approach

A 360 camera will be used to scan the image, that will be processed through the algorithm written in python using various libraries like OpenCV, scikit learn, this will increase the effectiveness of the segregation and will prove beneficial in further recycling.

Technologies Used

The algorithm will be written in python, and will be using scikit learn, open CV ,numpy. For object detection faster R-CNN will be beneficial.
