Hello guys, this is the first draft of a concept for the Silent Base 802 chassis , which id like to name this mod The War Pig. My sketches may be a little old school but I’ve had good success bringing my vision from my rough sketches to reality and having projects turn out great in my opinion. ...learn more

Overview / Usage

The basic overview of this mod would be to take the Silent Base 802, and turn it into my vision of a war machine type mod, with rivets and armour everywhere and chain guns sticking out the front ready to blast away it’s competition at the next LAN event.

My inspiration for this comes heavily from my love of Warhammer 40K and model painting, and I’ve recently been using a technique with graphite powder that I think would translate really cool to the case panels I’d make for this project.

I have a small following on all social media platforms and I would love to do up a cool YouTube series surrounding a mod like this.

Methodology / Approach

My approach would focus on basing the model, and transforming the build itself into the focus point of the scene with a truly dominating stance. I would aim for a hardened war torn and weathered paint job, and scale the guns at the front of the build to impose a decent amount of menace on the audience.

My workflow starts with measuring and tearing down the case. Next would be to design and test 3D parts to add to the build. Once that step is complete there’s a large amount of post processing and painting, which is my favourite part.

Two things I’d really like to do in a mod like this would be to inco servo motors, and try to make the guns articulate from side to side, as if locking on to its target.

Second would be to base the mod not only on new legs and case feet, but a full scene. I’d use a solid wooden board and create a terrain that our war machine can fit right into.
