Overview / Usage

Our project addresses the significant issue faced by 1.5 million Alzheimer’s patients and 1.9 million blind people and 3.5 million having moderate to severe vision impairment in Pakistan who have limited medical aid available and rely heavily on human support. This means that there is currently no solution available that can help them based on their personalized preferences, such as identifying family members or important items like medication or their house. Our solution is a customizable, affordable, and user-friendly wearable device that can be mounted on any wearable item, such as glasses, pendants, or hairbands. The device provides audio feedback to guide the patient, giving them a more humane feeling. Customized labeling helps patients recognize objects and people around them, ultimately enhancing their independence and providing them with a sense of self-sufficiency. For Alzheimer’s patients, it gets difficult to recognize people they know and they report not recognizing the usage of daily life objects. There is no cure for the disease. In Pakistan, where there is no Cognitive Stimulation Therapy or rehabilitation available, our solution comes in handy. Visually impaired patients find it challenging to connect socially and perform their daily life activities. Our solution replaces the traditional white cane, freeing their hands for more productivity. The device provides a personalized, affordable solution that helps them the way they like, with custom labels.
