Overview / Usage
Recent advances in the fields of sensors, processors, radio, artificial intelligence and data science have allowed people to make better decisions based on quantitative data. This surge in popularity in data logging and analysis has sparked professional athletes in embedding sensors into their play in order to identify weaknesses which can be corrected after they have observed it.
The aim of the project is to design a device with capable of logging the swinging motion for an athlete operating sports equipment. The device should also be able to react when the data matches a classifier.
The project is based the Genduino 101 board which is powered by a Intel Curie dual-core processor.
The board has a 6-axis gyroscope/accelerometer which will record the movement in this project.
It has Bluetooth Low Energy which will allow telemetry of the recorded data without having to worry about storage on the device itself.
The Curie also contains a neural network which can be used to classify the data recorded.
