Overview / Usage
Technology is everywhere--entwined in almost every part of our culture. It affects how we live, work, play, and most importantly learn. With mobile and other wireless devices like the IoT becoming an increasing requirement across every industry today, it only makes sense that our schools are also effectively deploying mobile technology in the classroom. However, for many schools, implementing the latest technology is a difficult strategy to navigate.
As part of this initiative, I talk at various conferences/events about tools and technologies that help in making LEARNING more FUN, transforming the learning EXPERIENCE, preparing STUDENTS for the FUTURE, connecting with students of all LEARNING STYLES, encouraging COLLABORATION with their classmates and teachers.
What tools I am talking about?
- Scratch - Scratch is a visual programming language that makes it easy to create interactive art, stories, simulations and games. (http://scratch.mit.edu/)
- MIT App Inventor - App Inventor is a tool which enables inexperienced novice users create a basic, fully functional application within an hour or less. MIT App Inventor can be combined with Intel IoT devices to create smart IoT solutions by kids. (http://appinventor.mit.edu/)
These tools help LEARN important strategies for solving problems, designing projects, and communicating ideas.
