Overview / Usage
"Weekend At Grandma's" is a wholesome virtual reality game where players help their Grandma set up her VCR to watch home movies! Grandma isn't very tech savvy, and needs help setting up her VCR and TV to watch some VHS tapes. Connect cables to the right slots, change the TV's input, and insert objects into the VCR to see what Grandma has in store!
Made by Grandma’s Favorite Indie in a 4-month span, the team consists of developers in Chicago who wanted to make a game where people could interact with supportive grandparents.

Methodology / Approach
Initial development started with physical prototyping in order to lay out how the puzzle of plugging cables in would convert into functional game mechanics in a virtual reality space.
Once the team had a cohesive idea of how the game should operate, we began creating the game in Unity, using the Oculus SDK to enable playing the game on the Quest and Rift. We used weekly sprints and monthly milestones to track and manage progress.
We held live playtesting sessions at the Logan Theatre and the Chicago Toy and Game Fair, providing invaluable feedback on usability and player experience.
