Intel Insider's Community Q2 Update

Our Intel Insider’s Discord Community of 30K+ PC fanatics had a busy month of virtual events  from live shows, multiple GPU hardware give-aways, bug squashing live gameplay, and insightful discussion from our friends at iBuyPower and NZXT. Belows a recap of last month’s activities.

Hardware Office Hours

For our Hardware Offfice hours we had guests from NZXT, iBuyPower, and MAINGEAR to come by and talk hardware.

Andy Johnston, global PR manager, NZXT, stopped by to talk about the NZXT Player:One Intel Arc Edition, the company’s first Intel Arc-powered Balanced Build offering, NZXT components, and other gaming topics. During the session, community members asked how NZXT picks components for its systems. “We pick what brings the most value at that price level and mix and match to get the most performance out of it,” Mr. Johnston revealed.

King Perez, marketing executive producer and business development, iBuyPower and Hyte, joined our Hardware Office Hours to geek out on hardware and showcase the latest HYTE Y40 and CNVS in a new Snow White color choice. Mr. Perez gave away some goodies during the Office Hours, including the newly released HYTE Y40, CNVS Snow Whites, and a Peepo plushy. The discussion went deep into case design theory, where Mr. Perez spoke about designing the Hyte cases, “We really took the input from the iBuyPower side, and all the pains and groans of the people who are assembling these systems, asking what if we had this or that.”

Our friends Wallace Santos, CEO and founder, MAINGEAR, and our very own Ryan Shrout, graphics marketing, Intel came together to discuss the Intel Arc graphics journey and MAINGEAR’s adoption of the Intel Arc A750 in the VYBE and MG-1 systems. "Arc was a really compelling price point. Its right there, the perf you get for the dollar makes a ton of sense in the MG-1. Since Arc's inception, we decided to run it through the ringer, constantly test it, benchmark it, test it in games,” said Mr. Wallace. “It was February when our lead engineer received an early release candidate driver and was like 'dude, they solved almost every problem that we had. At the current price point with this driver, it makes a lot of sense.'”

Free Fridays

Our Friday prizing continued in May with two winners taking home new PC gear. In May we had two Free Friday events with 328 entries vying for the hardware.  In our first event we asked our community members how’d they use an Intel Arc A770 in their PC for a chance to win an Intel Arc A770 Limited Edition GPU. Then later in the month we followed up our Balanced Build campaign with a second Free Friday giveaway consisting of an Intel Arc A770 GPU and Core i5 13600K combo, asking community members what they would do with it. Congratulations to Intel Insider’s Community members Bablu#9170 and dew#8255on winning hardware in May’s Free Fridays.

Let’s Play

Our Let’s Play community gaming event returned after a brief hiatus, playing Starship Troopers: Extermination, hosted by Zach Hill. Zach kick-started the Let’s Play with some fun trivia that asked Starship Troopers-related questions to giveaway game keys to our community members. Many quotes from the Starship Troopers movies were cited and 10 participants won game keys to join our Let’s Play, followed by a 16 member coop game . The game was enjoyable, and many bugs were slaughtered, RIP.

Morning Show

We introduced a new community show every Friday from 9-11AM PST in May hosted by Intel Tech Evangelist Alejandros Hoyos, and Robeytech. The Morning Show topics included gaming laptops with 13th Gen Intel® Core™ mobile processors, PC builds, and valuable insights that serious gamers shouldn’t miss out on. We even delved into budget builds, shared tips on cable management, and helping users optimize their gaming experience without breaking the bank.

But that's not all. We love hearing from our community, which is why we answered questions and offer fun challenges to keep things engaging every week. Each episode is a new opportunity to win exciting swag, hardware, or game codes depending on the topic.

That’s a wrap!
