Overview / Usage

I am a student researcher; but I am still a Scientist and to give this project context I feel I must provide some background as too who I am, and how this concept idea came to be. 6 years ago, I left my hometown of Charlotte NC and began to make my way to California in the pursuit of my own American dream in technology. On December 19, 2020, while living out of my car and working night shifts at a local gas station in Castaic, California, the idea of my own research and development company crept back into. This idea steamed from childhood from watching shows like Dexters Lab, The magic School Bus, Pinky and The Brain and so many others, but was aggravated in my brain by how the pandemic was being handled. It was then that I decided that I did not want to work for someone else’s private institute or break my neck seeking tenure one day when I’m a grad student, or work for some government agency where I’m not valued or work in a lab where I am limited to the research topics picked by higher up principal investigators. I’d rather work for my own scientific gain and pursuits. I made the decision in a second to become the CEO of Neutron Research & Development LLC. Or NRD. I called legal zoom the next day and began the online paperwork for filling 100% ownership of my first LLC in the state of California on 12/20/2020. A research lab that will one day be the most advanced lab and library in the world was born in California.

Bold claims, I am aware, but I believe I have the vision, drive, and determination to become a competitor in Research & Development, Deep Tech, Computer Science, Computer Hardware engineering, Electrical Engineering, theoretical computational science and science as a whole. For clarification “Deep Tech” is a sub field of STEM where technology is based on tangible engineering innovation or scientific advances and discoveries. Deep tech is distinguished by its remarkable enabling power, the differentiation it can create, and its potential to catalyst change. In other words, “Deep Tech” is where the fine line between science fiction and proven science began to become obscure. Deep Tech is taking the impossible and making it possible. Some example companies include DARPA, Lockheed Martin, or SpaceX. I am at the beginning of my life's work and journey.

Methodology / Approach

The approach to my concept is straight forward, Entrepreneurial, Enterprising and Energy Efficient. That does not necessarily mean more expensive but since price did not have to be sacrificed, quality took priority in the parts picked. The concept system is designed to handle my current workload, and so much more. Not so much my schoolwork because I use my laptop for school. My other programs would include software Adobe Creative Cloud, AutoCAD 2021, Krita, Fusion 360, 3DS MAX. Solid works, MATLAB, Meshmixer, Blender, Ki Cad for circuit designs, Anaconda, Jupyter , It would support my Arduino robotics projects accompanied by my PI Server I would like to build soon. In this Linux environment I study and try to practice Pen-testing Bug Bounties, and Operating System Development, Ulticura which is used for 3D printing, VS Code, and AutoCAD. The creative clouds I would like to gain more experience with is IBM Quantum which has applications to Super Conductors, and WATSON which has applications to AI, two systems I would like to demonstrate for the judges. More demanding tasks like using Intel’s Open VINO Toolkit or The Fortran Compiler will require the system to remain cool with equal heat distribution. Other topics include VR and Augmented Reality for engineering. The thought of parts being upgradable also was considered, as well as the system to be able to connect over multiple networks in the future and more powerful computer systems, or my Microcontrollers, and electrical testing equipment when prototyping.

My 3D printer will also be running off this concept design as well. This concept design is imagined with the idea of professional use but will serve as a gaming and entertainment system without sacrificing performance. I believe my concept step-up will allow for max multitasking at the best specs. My office is currently suited for 3D printing and PCB circuit making and programming, having soldering irons, electrical components, fume extractors, fans, and ventilation, this imagined concept set-up is the perfect computer system for a Tech-Start Up to cut energy use and be competitive. I don’t have to worry about how much power I use because my bill will not be affected, but efficiency is what I want my company to strive for. Not just a Tech-Start Up, but my Tech-Start Up. I believe it, and I would like to prove it.

I have used WWW.Newegg.com for my pricing, specs, stats, and reviews for all components except for the VR Headset, and CPU Cooler.

Intel Core i9-12900k Alder Lake CPU: I think the selected CPU is truly a testament to how great this competition is and how amazing this opportunity really is. I am proud to be a participant. The Intel Core i9-12900K is one of the best CPU’s on the market today and will be the standard for every CPU I compare it too in the future. Having the Intel Core i9 leaves options to experiment with other GPUs and CPUs and I think that will be the case for awhile. The Intel Core i9 is also one of the cards suggested by HP to run their HP Reverb G2 Omnicept Edition at full resolution. This leaves fair game to all development involving VR and AR development topics, projects and experiments. And YES gaming.

MSI MPG Z690 Carbon WIFI Motherboard: I selected the MSI MPG Z690 Carbon Motherboard for my concept design because of its Overclocking abilities, and it’s 8-layer PCB which utilizes server grade material and 2oz thickened copper providing a higher performance with no compromise. The Direct 18+1+1 Power Design was also attractive to me because of the workload I will be demanding from my system. The motherboard also has Pump Fan Support for future experimentation with water-cooling. Another one of the better pros for the MSI vs the ASUS ROG RTX 3070 is that I think the ASUS ROG RTX is more suited for gaming focused users than developers. This provides more versatility for when upgrades are released.

Corsair Vengeance 32GB: The corsair vengeance was selected due to its over 5000 MHz Speed. As Newegg.com put it the Corsair Vengeance can “Do It All And Do It Faster”. With the speed of DDR5 the selected Intel i9 will have no problems with sending and receiving data, having A LOT of tabs open and Hardcore Multitasking and automation. The Corsair Vengeance seemed like the more suitable choice for what I want to do.

MSI Ventus GeForce RTX 3070: The Ventus RTX 3070 is a great example of what I hope to accomplish with my future products. The Ventus brings a performance focused design to a truly beautiful piece of equipment, I am a die-hard Nvidia fan, and this 2nd Gen Card is a dream at the price. The TORX Fan 3.0 uses alternating fan blades and dispersion blades that focus and accelerate airflow into the heatsink optimizing performance. I love the gaming mode that automatically tunes the settings for the game you are playing. And of course, the MSI exclusive MSI center as well as MSI Afterburner helps make the most out of your equipment by letting you take full control.

Silent Base 802 White: Im not the biggest fan of all white cases but the Base 802 White Window is sleek and classy, that offers modest presentation to anybody looking at the setup. The Colors will just POP. On Newegg the highlights are an interchangeable top cover and front panel for wither maximum airflow or silent operation. Three Pure Wing 2 140mm fans offer amazing airflow. State of the art I/O-panel with fan controller and USB 3.2 Gen. and 2 type C Ports.

Push buttons on the side panels, and some other cool design specs that not only help the machine perform at optimum capacity but looks amazing. One of the features that really caught my eye was the Decoupled Motherboard tray can be relocated for an inverted layout which can help it heat dissipation.

Corsair K68 RGB Gaming Keyboard: Going based off the specs on Newegg.com. It’s assumed the selected keyboard is the Mechanical Gaming Keyboard in which case, it appeals to me due to it unlimited lighting customization. I’m sure I would have fun coming up with portfolio projects using the Arduino Board. This Keyboard is fully programmable with CUE enabling sophisticated Macro programming and dynamic lighting effects. This keyboard looks great and by the reviews performs great and is responsive as well. I have no doubt that it would be a great addition to my concept design.

Logitech G502 Hero Gaming Mouse: Love the customizing aspects of this mouse

MSI MEG Coreliqued S360: This Cooling system is the most ideal for me due to its advanced silencing technology. Being in a professional business complex I cant have my computers too load. Im actually in the process of changing the stepper motors in my 3D prints to eliminate some of the noise. I think I have bombarded the judges with enough spec info for this initial project submission. So I will leave it at the silence makes this cooling option ideal.

Operating System(s): Since I have a MacBook with IOS, and raspberry PI with Linux, and other operating systems installed on my Mac Passport. This Concept design would Utilize the Windows operating system.

Samsung 980 Pro M.2 2280 1TB:

Monitor: The Computer Monitor I have on hand already is the monitor that came with my office suite an ASUS Monitor that is decently sized, and has a great resolution, games and 3D models will look amazing to say the least.

Accessories: There are many accessories that come to mind when I come to this setup, a server and racks come to mind but there is one accessory that I’ve had my I on since I decided to build my company computer and that is pertinent to my set up. And that’s the HP Reverb G2 Omnicept Edition. Because this is not a component option for this competition, if I am selected as a finalist, I will most likely use my tax return to invest in this revolutionary hardware. I think this headset would give me a leg up on other freelances by supplying me with data and results that can only be obtained with this head set.

This headset and this concept desktop could be a game changer for my life and career, and I think it’s worth it to throw my idea in the ring and see what happens. I have been right about my decisions so far and have no regrets, I have come a long way and will continue all the way to the top of the Tech World. I know what direction I want to take this company and I know the hardware and mindset that can help me be a successful student, scientist and entrepreneur, its described above.
