Overview / Usage
I would like to put together a PC that would help me in the four year journey towards my Film degree here at the University of Michigan. I have long been a hardcore hardware nerd, ever since my dad brought home IBM's PC 300XL in the early 2000s. That had been my childhood computer for the longest time until I began to take an interest in film, more specifically, the magic of post-production. If I am fortunate enough to win the competition, I will put it to good use in earning my degree.
Methodology / Approach
My dad had worked in the IT industry for the longest time, so I had the fortunate experience of growing up around technology. Before he passed from Covid, the last project that he and I to work with him on was a server computer for the local clinic. We began to put together the set up that I would use for the four years that I am here in Ann Arbor with the monitor that I was able to connect to my laptop through a dock.
Technologies Used
I have yet to make any strides in retrieving the components needed for my PC build due to the ongoing silicon shortages. My current Intel i7-8550U has difficulties rendering Premiere Pro projects on its integrated graphics so having a machine with a discrete graphics card would be beneficial to my workload.
